Welcome from the Headteacher
“Loving to Learn; Learning with Love”
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to St Margaret’s CE Primary School, a small, nurturing and ambitious rural school in the heart of Withern, Lincolnshire. Surrounded by the beauty of our countryside, we make the most of our wonderful natural environment to inspire curiosity, creativity and a sense of care and responsibility for the world around us. Our outdoor spaces are an extension of our classrooms, places where children learn through exploration, teamwork and discovery, developing confidence, resilience and a deep appreciation of nature.
As an ambitious church school, we aim to instil a life-long love of learning in all members of our community, creating a safe, inclusive and caring environment where everyone feels they truly belong. Guided by our school vision, “Loving to Learn; Learning with Love”, and inspired by our Christian foundation, we ensure every child is supported and encouraged to achieve their very best.
Our school values, rooted in our Christian ethos and reflected in the British values of respect, tolerance and responsibility, shape all that we do. They guide our children to be kind, honest and resilient individuals who care for others and contribute positively to their community and the wider world.
At St Margaret’s, we have high aspirations for every pupil, and this ambition is reflected in our strong school outcomes and the continued success of our children. Through a rich and engaging curriculum, we nurture curiosity, creativity and independence, helping every child to develop lively, enquiring minds. We work closely with our whole school community to ensure all our children flourish academically, socially and emotionally. Our recent Ofsted inspection recognised pupils’ enthusiasm for learning, the care and support they receive, and the stimulating environment in which they thrive.
As a small rural school, our strong sense of community lies at the heart of everything we do. Every child is known, valued and celebrated, and together we create an environment where everyone feels proud to belong. We recognise that childhood is a precious time, and we aim to make it as joyful, inspiring and memorable as possible.
Whether you are a current parent, a prospective family or simply interested in finding out more, I warmly invite you to explore our website or come and visit us in person to experience what makes St Margaret's in Withern such a special place to learn and grow.
Together, we will continue to build on our shared values, high expectations and deep sense of belonging, ensuring that every child experiences the joy of “learning with love.”
1 Corinthians 16:14 – “Do everything in love.”
