‘Music for Every Child’
Every child at St Margaret’s CE Primary School engages in quality music education from their entry into Foundation Stage until the end of KS2 in Year 6. In the early Years, music is incorporated consistently into daily routines and is used to enhance teaching of the core curriculum, in addition to being taught as a stand-alone subject. We are very proud to be able to offer every child in the school a class music lesson every week with a Music specialist teacher from the Lincolnshire Music Service (https://www.lincsmusicservice.org). The children also give musical performances to audiences each term.
In addition over 34% of children in the school are currently receiving small group or one to one instrument tuition. Currently children taking up this provision are learning to play the piano, violin, cello, guitar and ukulele. The school uses pupil premium money to subsidise lesson for some pupils – please contact the school for more details.
