Our Philosophy:

Play within wraparound care is essential across all key stages as it supports children’s exploration, development, and well-being in ways that complement formal education. From early years through to older primary children, play enables exploration through art and crafts, construction activities, and forest school experiences, allowing children to express creativity, develop problem-solving skills, and build independence at an age-appropriate level. Creative activities support fine motor development and self-expression, construction play encourages logical thinking and collaboration, while forest school and outdoor play promote resilience, physical development, and a strong connection with nature. These play opportunities allow children to learn through hands-on experiences and exploration rather than structured instruction, supporting continuous development across key stages. As highlighted in the Playwork Principles, “play is a biological, psychological and social necessity”, reinforcing that high-quality, play-based wraparound care nurtures holistic development and provides meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom.
